African peoples are an ingenious lot! With limited funds and scarce resources many people are forced to tap into their creative talents to survive. The crew at Eco-Sandals are one such group. Raised in informal settlements with little or no education and with bleak employment opportunities, these young people have broken the career barrier by recycling used rubber from tyres to create probably the worlds toughest sandal. What’s more, they do it all be hand ensuring that quality and consistency are guaranteed. They currently export to around 30 countries around the world including the UK and USA, and are finding it tough to keep up with demand!
