The son of a fisherman, Baaba Maal, together with Youssou ‘NDour, is probably the most famous Senegalese musician alive. He sings in the Pulaar language and is a veteran of 15 albums. Notable achievements include collaborating with the likes of Tony Allen, One Giant Leap, Brian Eno, Archie Shepp amongst many others. His many appearance credits include appearances at Live 8 and London’s Royal Festival Hall. His music has featured on movies including Black Hawk Down.
